Not all websites are created the same. Let me repeat that.  Not all websites are created the same.

Creating an effective website is more than using the latest tools and nice design. Bad websites are immediately identifiable. Good websites need to be more than online brochures. They should be an active part of your marketing efforts and should:

  • Bring potential new customers to you
  • Offer easy-to-understand links to the most relevant information
  • Provide clear calls to action
  • Communicate concisely what your business does and how to contact you
  • Convert site visitors to customers/clients
  • Demonstrate your industry expertise
  • and more.

Do you want even a mediocre website?  Can you afford a mediocre website?

Building an effective website means matching the proper website structure, design, and tools to your business. What works for the CPA down the street doesn’t necessarily work for the architect the other direction. The hospitality industry will benefit from the use of some tools whereas a large e-commerce company needs others. Cookie cutter websites simply don’t work well.

TCW uses a strategic approach to website design and construction and only applies the tactics appropriate for your business. Some tactics are broadly applicable:

  • Content Management System. We use WordPress.
  • Well-organized navigation that is easy to understand and use. Sometimes this requires some thought but even complex businesses can offer an online face to the world that is intuitively easy to use.
  • Clear paths for visitors to contact you. A site visitor should never have to hunt for your phone number or email address.
  • Clear calls to action. Your visitors should be given one or better yet two reasons to contact you.
  • Blogging. Every business can benefit from demonstrating their expertise on the web. Blogging a minimum of once a month does that. And it also lets visitors know your site isn’t stagnant.
  • Tweeting. By connecting Twitter to your blog, you can broaden your audience.

Other tactics need to be selected based on your business. From use of video and photo galleries to an event calendar and selective other social media, there are tools which can help attract people to your site and encourage them to become customers.

Not all websites are created equal. Don’t let a pretty design or slick sales pitch fool you. TCW thinks strategically. Our job is creating websites that help you build your business.
