Hotel Website Design Review [video]
Improving a website not only reflects your business but generates more business. See how improvements to the website for the historic Kendall Hotel In Cambridge MA, a beautiful converted firehouse can create an effective means to get seen by perspective customers and also by Google. With a few strategic changes Kendall’s website can be transformed into a stronger Internet presence generating more activity and leading to new sales. In this review, simple yet effective changes are suggested that can boost the performance of the Kendall Hotel’s website using the latest in WordPress website design.
To start, Google analytics redefines the importance of Kendall’s homepage as well as pages visited most frequently. Narrowing down the number and order of navigation buttons from nine to six will help create a simpler more effective way to present important information. More attention will be given to the items that are offered on the home and subsequent pages, rooms, dining, reservations, as well as the addition of an amenities button, combining important information to perspective customers. The bottom line is that less navigation is more, creating a simpler and more effective approach to boosting sales.
Replacing present images in the sidebar with a news and events blog is another simple but extremely effective option to advertise specials and upcoming events. This feature alone can help drive potential sales volume as a regularly updated a blog can relay specials, events and rates, keeping the site fresh and currently active in Google.
Bringing content forward on the home page such as the virtual tour of Kendall’s rooms and adding rotating pictures of Kendall’s beautiful interior can add punch and optimization to the all important homepage.
Submitting this website to online directories and utilizing the growing power of social bookmarking can also give the Kendall a leading edge in staying competitive in the busy Boston Hotels market.

Payroll Business Generates New Clients From Website!
After the launch of their new website, Check Write is finally getting the business they deserve! Check Write’s original site was not producing any new sales; no phone calls, no inquiries through email, no contacts. In essence it was just not working. Offering payroll and bookkeeping solutions to small and midsize companies as well as offering similar services to individuals and households, Check-Write’s business needed the ability to be seen and found easily in Google. Choosing to optimize their website for search engines and installing an easy to use contact form opened a window of opportunity leading to inquiries and, better yet, new clients.
Helping businesses to build their business through a website that works is what we most like to do. Getting her 1st lead through the site’s quote form ending with the close of the sale, owner Cindy Hollis is thrilled, “TCWebsite was able to optimize the search engine so that when clients were actually looking for my service, my name came to the top of the list!” Check Write’s new website, new contacts and new clients are what it’s all about. Here at TCWebsite, we couldn’t be happier!

New green server is online
Late this winter we purchased a new state of the art dedicated server to host your website and email that is also carbon neutral. Beth has been busy moving clients over and expects to have the move completed by the time we can see grass sprouts here in NH.
We choose Rackspace (A Top Ten host provider) for their 24/7 support and guaranteed zero downtime. Our server also draws over 30% less electricity than a typical dedicated server and the remainder of the electric consumption is offset by Rackspace’s purchase of carbon credits from NativeEnergy.
Read on about the green…
NativeEnergy is a leading national marketer of renewable energy credits and carbon offsets.
In 2008, Rackspace will support two new renewable projects: the Penn England Family Dairy Waste to Energy Project, which will help ramp up a manure digester on this 700 cow dairy farm that displaces onsite fossil fuel use and emissions of methane, and the Farmer Owned Distributed Small Scale Wind Project in Minnesota, which supports the sale and installation of German-designed 40 kW Aeroman wind turbines that are remanufactured and customized for Midwest conditions.
In 2007, Rackspace customer offsets have helped complete portions of the Owl Feather War Bonnet Wind Farm project to bring wind turbine power to the Rosebud Sioux Tribe in South Dakota, and helped the Wanner Family Dairy Farm Methane Project in Pennsylvania become fully funded.
A more expensive solution for us… but one that makes us feel good about what we do.
